A Warsong Carol, Revised

Warsong Carol(contest version) published, extended version nearly complete

After much travail, and someone fooling around with my WCM account after I left it logged in, the contest version of Warsong Carol is released!

http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=55624

I was planning on spending a bit more time on the revision, but since apparently whatever is up by tomorrow is going to be posted on WoW Moviewatch, I decided I'd best put up what I have.

For some bizarre reason, the sound errors are still coming up, despite everything I try- I even tried rendering out an MP3 of the audio track and then recombining them... anyone know what could cause such a thing?

Also, I am looking for voice talent for my future work- if interested, contact me on #machinima, send a pm through warcraftmovies, or send an email to aogcomic AT hotmail.com to let me know.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I got some nice new shoes, new slippers, a very nice chunk of anime, and a shot at knocking down Anzu to get my swift flight form(despite being woefully undergeared for heroic dungeons)

A Warsong Carol is still not finished publishing on Stage6 and WCM, but I did upload to YouTube in the meantime. When it goes up, there's also a nice little MP3 of the undead chorus. It ended up taking #4 in the chrstmas contest. Not bad for a first try^_^

Well, I finished my first machinima project today.

Submitted, despite some technical problems^_^

Ogrimmar by night

I'm pretty sure Ogrimmar's canyons were at least partially formed by silithids.

Ogrimmar

'Tis a silly place.

Not much to say about this yet- work in progress. Thanks to Topez for the clue I needed^_^

Another shot of the train

Wheee!

Horde Train

It's still not finished, but this is the train from Robber Baron. It's hard to strike a balance between the wow style and still giving me the sort of look I want for the show.

The YouTube quality kinda sucks, but Stage6 has been giving me trouble.

Work on Robber Baron of Warsong Gulch continues...

Banshee Queen

A quick edit of Sylvanas' NPC skin to more closely resemble her wc3 incarnation. Since she'll be on screen approximately 3 seconds, I didn't really go overboard on minor details like species.

Eyeballs

As much as I like the wow models, both for machinima and art, I still like to do some modelling of my own. For the first step to redesigning the WoW gnome model, I started with the eyes, which are basically two flat little circles on top of a flat face surface with an eye painted on it.

To start off with, I made a couple eyeballs, then drew out a couple sockets to fit. Currently I UV mapped them to match the original, though when I finish making my own head I'll probably be redoing that as well(If only to let me make an asymmetrical face). I tried to keep close to the proportions and style of the WOW gnome when I rebuilt the jaw and skull.

Here's a closeup. The eyeballs themselves clearly need a lot of work, and still lack eyelashes and stuff.

The original, for comparison.

Here's a WIP shot of the eye socket. For this version, I worked within the framework of the old head mesh, but I plan on redoing it to a greater extent after finishing the new mouth.

Eventually, I hope to have an entirely redone character model, and probably completely new textures as well. Not only will it look better, but it will be very good practice for my non warcraft stuff.

Work in progress: Olibith

I'm halfway through a portrait of Olibith, star of screen and smaller screen, and I made a little movie showing my progress. I'm experimenting with styled saslight hair for the first time, which is interesting- a lot of fun, too.

Check it out here- http://stage6.divx.com/user/Pinkhair/video/1813031/

Unlimited Escapism 00 is out!

It's here! And Baron is already getting trolls! Yee haw!

Now for something completely different...

Unfortunately, the model edit is very finicky and only looks good from certain angles- this is due mostly to a) polygons with no inner surface and b) the skirt and the upper thighs sharing the same UVs.

Still fun.

UE0 is up!

I'm too busy downloading it to go into detail, though I imagine that we will have Baron's wall of text he promised on the making of soon. Will update when the Warcraftmovies link goes live.

« petite Nikita »

I hadn't really understood how huge a fanbase BasonSoosdon had until I saw that the trailer for his movie has 17k downloads on Warcraftmovies.com... Which is more people than I can say ever saw anything even associated with me before.

Speaking of WCM, take a look! See anyone familiar?

And in addition, now he's gotten onto the Blizz community page in yet another country(that's, what? Three, four?) today. And my rendering came along for the ride^_^

See anyone familiar?
Wow, my artwork now graces the front page of WoW Europe's French community spotlight... in French. I cannot speak french, but I've been given a rough translation by my friend Jordanis:

"Benefiting from an always-startling photography, one also notes the presence of a frenchman in the casting, Olibith. True to his reputation, he is here chased by charming damsels. Certainly, the Baron merits his noble titles and continues to opt for his unexpected but continually impressive mixtures: the "Little Nikita" overwhelms the whole of Gnomeregan."

I like the nickname they gave her a lot more than what Baron calls her, so I think I'll stick with Petite Nikita.

Congratulations to Baron Soosdon for getting on there, and for graciously offering to share his well earned French ladies! Also, grats to Olibith for the mention!

Unlimited Escapism 00: Shock Your Senses

Over 26 hours of rendering, but my clip for UE is finished! It will probably look pretty different in the movie itself, since I didn't do any retiming, motion blur, or color correction.

Make sure to check out the Stage6 full quality version- I spent a day rendering it to HD, so...

And be sure to look for an exclusive sneak peek at a future project at the end of UE!

#machinima

Well, I've been interested in machinima and model editing in WoW for some time. After posting some work of mine on wow.dev, I was invited to #machinima- and was a bit startled to get such a warm reception.

Also surprising is that it looks like I'll be making my machinima debut in Baron Soosdon's upcoming Unlimited Escapism 00.

Here's a shot from the 10 second clip I whipped up today for it. Rendering it made my laptop sweat blood, but I think it was worth it.

Pinkhair SMASH!

My second custom weapon. It doesn't work perfectly, but it amuses me nigh endlessly anyway.

Model Editing: Sword

After much trial and error, mostly error, I managed to import a completely new mesh as a weapon into wow. The model itself is nothing special, and the texture sucks, but it works.

Bloddi

I'd been interested in machinima for quite some time, but never really thought about doing it. But then while I was visiting friends in Florida, I happened to download WoW Model Viewer and then, well, things just kinda escalated from there... At the time I was in the middle of a long, unrelated art project, and I was just fooling around to relax. I stumbled on some forums where people were doing similar things, and saw that there were tools that would let me slip a wow model into Lightwave.

Of course, actually getting the tools to work was another story, but at that point I was somewhat committed, and the end result was a pretty nice portrait of my gnome mage, Bloddi, in vintage Gnomeregan gear.
